Quick answer
Dial the Majibu merchant code from the phone whose Mobile Money pays. MTN *165*3*590199*amount# or Airtel *185*9*4365207*amount#, then confirm with your PIN. These payments are matched by the paying number, so they take longer to show. Keep the SMS.
Steps
- On the phone whose MTN or Airtel Money will pay, open the phone dialler.
- MTN: dial
*165*3*590199*amount#. For UGX 3,600 that is*165*3*590199*3600#. Airtel: dial*185*9*4365207*amount#. - Check that the payment goes to Majibu and the amount is right, then confirm with your Mobile Money PIN.
- Keep the confirmation SMS. It has the transaction ID.
- In the Majibu app, Pay without mobile data fills in the code and the amount for you.
Good to know
- These payments are matched to your loan by the paying phone number. Pay from the number registered on your loan when you can.
- If someone else pays this way, or you have more than one loan, send support the SMS and your pay code so the money goes to the right loan.
- Merchant-code payments are added from MTN and Airtel statements, so they show later than payments made online or in the app.
- Never send your daily payment to a personal number. Only these merchant codes and pay.majibuafrica.com belong to Majibu.
Contact support if
- the money left but is not on your loan by the next day
- you paid from a number that is not on your loan
- you paid for a second loan and it went to the wrong one
Have this ready
- the number that paid
- the amount
- the date and time
- the transaction ID from the SMS
- your pay code or the phone number on your loan
Never send your Mobile Money PIN. Majibu staff never ask for it.
