Pay online with your pay code
Answered here
Quick answer
Open pay.majibuafrica.com or tap the pay link in your Majibu WhatsApp message. Enter your pay code, the MTN or Airtel number that will pay and the amount. Tap Send request, then approve the PIN prompt on the phone that pays.
Steps
- Open pay.majibuafrica.com in your phone's browser, or tap the pay link in your Majibu WhatsApp message. Check that the address starts with pay.majibuafrica.com.
- Type your pay code (8 letters and numbers) and tap Continue. No code? See Get your pay code.
- Check the loan shown: the type of loan, the borrower's initials and the last digits of the registered phone. If it is not your loan, go back and check the code.
- Under Number that will pay, type the MTN or Airtel Money number that will pay. It can be your number or another person's. Have that phone with you.
- Under Amount (UGX), type the amount in whole shillings, for example 3600. You choose the amount. Tap Continue.
- On Check and send, check the number and the amount, then tap Send request.
- A PIN prompt appears on the phone that pays. Its owner types the Mobile Money PIN there. Approve one prompt only.
- Keep the page open until it says Payment complete and "Added to the loan".
Good to know
- The pay page never asks for your PIN. You type it only into the MTN or Airtel prompt.
- Paying online is the main way to pay. The Majibu app is a backup: see Pay in the Majibu app.
- "Payment received; it is being added to the loan" means the money arrived. "We haven't seen your payment yet; it can still arrive" means wait: do not pay again.
- A locked phone opens when it is online and gets its new date. See I paid, but my phone is still locked.
- If you missed days, the payment covers them first. See Why did my payment give me fewer days?
- Pay at least your full daily amount, or round it up. See How much should I pay each day?
- "This link can't take payments" means the code is wrong or not active. Check the code in your Majibu message and try again.
- "Payments on this page are paused" means try again later, or pay in the app or by merchant code. The page shows the merchant codes under "Pay by merchant code instead".
Contact support if
- money left the paying number but the page still shows no payment after 30 minutes
- the page says "This link can't take payments" and you are sure the code is right
- the loan shown is not yours
Have this ready
- your pay code, or the phone number registered on your loan
- the number that paid
- the amount and the time you paid
- the transaction ID from the MTN or Airtel SMS
Never send your Mobile Money PIN. Majibu staff never ask for it.
Thank you.
