Pay for someone else, or let someone pay for you

Quick answer
Yes. On pay.majibuafrica.com or in the Majibu app, type the other person's MTN or Airtel number as the number that pays. The PIN prompt goes to their phone and they approve it there. The money goes to the loan the request started from.
What to do
- Give the person your pay link from the Majibu WhatsApp message, or your pay code. Never give anyone your PIN.
- They open the link (or pay.majibuafrica.com and type the code), type their own number under Number that will pay, and the amount.
- They tap Send request and approve the PIN prompt on their own phone.
- Or start it from your Majibu app: tap Pay now, type their number as the payer number and send. They approve the prompt on their phone.
Good to know
- The payment goes to the loan the request started from, whichever number pays.
- With the merchant code (dialling
*165*3*590199*amount#or*185*9*4365207*amount#), the money is matched by the paying number. From someone else's number it may not find your loan, so send support their number, the amount, the time and the transaction ID. - The person who pays never needs your PIN, and you never need theirs.
Contact support if
- the other person paid by merchant code from their own number
- money left their number but your loan shows nothing after 30 minutes

- your pay code or the phone number on your loan
Never send your Mobile Money PIN. Majibu staff never ask for it.
