New SIM or new phone number
Support decides
Quick answer
Keep using the SIM you registered when you bought the phone; a financed phone can ask for that SIM. If you must change your SIM or number, message support, from your registered number if you can. Support confirms who you are and updates your loan details.
What to do
- If the phone asks for the old SIM, put the registered SIM back in.
- Message support, from your registered number if you can, with your new number.
- Support confirms who you are and updates the number. Pair the app again if it asks: see Get back into the Majibu app.
Good to know
- Your number also matters for your pay code: codes are sent only to the number registered on your loan.
- Use your own SIM at the shop when you buy, not a friend's.
Contact support if
- you need to change your number
- the phone asks for a SIM you no longer have
Have this ready
- your old number and your new number
- your full name as on your contract
- the shop where you bought the phone
- a photo of the screen asking for the SIM
Never send your Mobile Money PIN. Majibu staff never ask for it.
Thank you.
