The PIN prompt did not come
Answered here
Quick answer
Check that the paying number is an MTN or Airtel Uganda Mobile Money number, that the phone is on with signal and not on a call. Wait a minute, then try once more. Approve only one prompt. If it still does not come, pay by merchant code instead.
What to do
- Check the number you typed. It must be the MTN or Airtel Money number of the phone that pays.
- Make sure that phone is switched on, has network signal and is not on a call.
- Wait one minute. Prompts sometimes arrive late.
- Try once more from the pay page or the app. If it says a payment for this loan is still being checked, wait and try again later.
- Still nothing? Pay by merchant code from the paying phone: see Pay without mobile data.
Good to know
- The prompt goes to the number you typed, not always to the phone in your hand.
- If two prompts arrive, approve only one.
- "Too many payment requests" means wait a while before you try again.
- "Enter an MTN or Airtel Uganda number" means the number is not one the page can send prompts to. If your Airtel number starts with 073, use another number or the merchant code.
Contact support if
- no prompt comes after two tries and the merchant code also fails
- money was taken although no prompt came
Have this ready
- the number that should get the prompt and its network
- the times you tried
- a screenshot of the message on the pay page or in the app
Never send your Mobile Money PIN. Majibu staff never ask for it.
Thank you.
